Situated at the Lumina Center on the West Bund of Shanghai, Tezign, a prominent Internet and AI technology company, boasts diverse working models and flat management methods. Employees enjoy the freedom to define their roles and working methods. The client envisioned the office environment as akin to a school campus, where employees could freely adapt their workspace to suit their needs.
Design Concept: A City Within
The design strategy conceived the working environment as a city, introducing four scenarios: Monuments, Dwellings, Streets, and Townhall. Each scenario offers distinct functionalities, catering to different work requirements and fostering a dynamic and flexible workspace.
Monumental Infrastructure: The Thick Wall
The ‘Thick Wall’ concept extrudes a 3D space from the two-dimensional wall, accommodating various fixed programs such as meetings, informal discussions, and storage. This infrastructure symbolizes a monumental gesture, offering a versatile space that can be reserved and utilized as needed.
Undefined Spaces: Dwellings
Dwellings provide undefined spaces for employees, featuring wooden boxes, semi-open thick wall spaces, and customizable office furniture. These spaces promote flexibility, allowing groups to tailor their environment according to their interests and habits.
Dynamic Interactions: The Street
The Street serves as a transitional space between the thick wall and open working areas, facilitating chance encounters and informal communication. It offers a changing streetscape, encouraging interaction and collaboration among employees.
Multi-functional Hub: Townhall
The Townhall, located at the entrance, serves as a multi-functional hub equipped with various amenities such as a pantry, meeting rooms, and bulletin boards. Its adaptable design accommodates diverse activities, including theaters, exhibitions, and team-building exercises.
