Securing generative AI-based applications is increasingly crucial to prevent prompting attacks, data leaks, and privacy violations. Tel Aviv-based Aim Security is entering this space with a new GenAI security platform, backed by a $10 million seed funding round led by YL Ventures, alongside Cyber Club London and angel investors including founders of WIZ.
Founders’ Background
Aim Security’s founders, Matan Getz (CEO) and Adir Gruss (CTO), honed their cybersecurity expertise during their tenure with the Israel Defense Forces. Getz, a former deputy CISO at IDF’s Unit 8200, collaborated with Gruss, who led an elite cybersecurity education program. Gruss later served as the field CTO of Laminar.
Mission and Vision
Aim Security aims to provide a comprehensive approach to GenAI security, focusing on preventing data leakage and ensuring responsible GenAI usage. They recognize the growing trend of integrating GenAI tools like ChatGPT into public and internal applications, posing risks of unauthorized data exposure.
Platform Features
The company’s platform integrates with existing security solutions and offers a lightweight browser extension, enabling real-time monitoring and control over GenAI usage. By positioning themselves between users/applications and language models, Aim Security ensures visibility into data interactions.
Industry Traction and Expansion Plans
